Live website projects

Selected website work

A selection of live websites designed and developed by Ben at Shaldon Web Studio, covering specialist finance and ecommerce.

Each quotation is genuine and published with permission. UK Mortgage Finance and Sterling Bridging Finance are connected brands within the same finance business and are shown separately because they were distinct website projects.

Specialist finance / WordPress

UK Mortgage Finance

A full redesign for a specialist property-finance business, with clearer service journeys, interactive calculators, detailed enquiry forms, responsive layouts and a stronger technical SEO structure.

What we delivered

  • Full website redesign
  • Interactive calculators
  • Detailed enquiry forms
  • Technical SEO structure

Our previous website didn’t reflect the experience of the business or explain our services clearly enough. Ben took the time to understand a complicated finance business and rebuilt the site around what clients actually need to know. The new structure, calculators and enquiry process are a major improvement. He was extremely thorough, dealt with every change carefully and produced a website that presents UK Mortgage Finance far more professionally.

Ecommerce / Shopify

PrepareHQ

Project context

A Shopify ecommerce redesign and ongoing optimisation for a UK emergency-food supplier, reorganising a complex product range and adding clearer buying journeys, guides and an emergency-food calculator.

What we delivered

  • Ecommerce redesign
  • Product-range organisation
  • Emergency-food calculator
  • Ongoing optimisation
Visit PrepareHQ (opens in a new tab)

Shaldon Web Studio has completely changed how PrepareHQ comes across online. We had a large product range that could easily feel confusing, but the website was reorganised and redesigned to make it much easier for customers to understand what they need. The calculator and buying guides are especially useful, and the technical side has been handled carefully throughout. The site now feels much clearer, more professional and easier to use on mobile.

Sterling Bridging Finance

Project context

A redesign and repositioning for a specialist bridging-finance brand, with clearer UK services, a bridging calculator, detailed enquiry forms and carefully separated UK and Spain journeys.

What we delivered

  • Website redesign
  • Bridging calculator
  • Detailed enquiry forms
  • UK and Spain journeys

Sterling needed its own identity as a specialist bridging-finance brand while still fitting alongside UK Mortgage Finance. Ben understood that from the start. He improved the design and structure, made the services much clearer and worked carefully through the UK and Spain wording. He was patient with feedback and picked up details we had missed. The finished site is much stronger and gives clients a far better first impression.

Services

Website, ecommerce and digital support built around your business

From a new website or redesign to ecommerce, a website review, search visibility, content support or ongoing care, every scope is shaped around what customers need to understand, trust and do next.

01

New business websites

Focused one-page or multi-page websites that explain the business clearly and give customers a confident next step.

02

Website redesigns

Carefully planned redesigns for businesses whose existing website no longer reflects their services, positioning or customer needs.

03

Ecommerce websites

New ecommerce websites and redesigns for businesses that need a clearer, more credible way to sell online.

04

Website reviews & enquiry journeys

A human-checked website review identifies practical priorities across clarity, trust, mobile use and the route to more enquiries.

05

SEO & local visibility

Search-ready service and location structure that helps people and search engines understand what the business offers and where it works.

06

Ongoing website support

Website updates, technical improvements, SEO and content work can be scoped separately after launch or for an existing site.

Social media & content support

Make your website and social channels feel like the same business

A strong website works better when the rest of your online presence feels consistent. Content support can be added to a website project or discussed separately, with the exact scope agreed around what your business needs.

Support can include

  • Content planning and practical post ideas
  • Professionally written captions
  • Branded social graphics
  • Turning website, service and project content into social posts
  • Help keeping your online presence more consistent

Professional brand photography

When original images would strengthen the project, professional brand photography can be arranged through a trusted independent photographer who already creates photography and social content for other brands. Availability, location, the brief and price are confirmed separately before anything is booked.

The mix, frequency and deliverables are agreed for each client and quoted separately.

Discuss Content Support

Website galleries, content updates, booking-request forms, selectors and other practical features can still be included where they support the agreed purpose.

Project leadership

Direct accountability from brief to launch

Website projects are led by Ben Jones, giving clients a clear point of responsibility from planning through testing, launch and handover.

Ben Jones

Web design & development

Ben leads website structure, visual design, development and technical delivery. He remains directly involved throughout the project, bringing the design, content, functionality and technical details together as one coherent piece of work.

Frequently asked questions

Useful details before starting a project

Clear answers about scope, content support, photography, timing, revisions, hosting and support after launch.

Do you work with businesses in Exeter?

Yes. Shaldon Web Studio is based in Shaldon and works with businesses in Exeter and across Devon. Projects can be handled using phone, email and video calls, with other meeting arrangements agreed individually.

Can you work with a business outside South Devon?

Yes. Shaldon Web Studio is based in South Devon, but suitable projects can be handled remotely across the UK and Spain using email, video calls and shared project information.

Who leads the website work?

Ben Jones leads website structure, visual design, development and technical delivery, remaining directly involved from planning through testing, launch and handover. Professional brand photography can be arranged independently when a project needs it.

What is included in a website quote?

The written quote identifies the agreed pages, features, content responsibilities, revision allowance, technical work, price and any items that are not included.

Why can two one-page websites cost different amounts?

A one-page site can still involve very different amounts of copywriting, image preparation, galleries, forms, custom features and design work. The fixed quote reflects the agreed scope.

How many revisions are included?

Two agreed revision rounds are normally included unless the written scope says otherwise. Additional revisions or new work outside the scope may cost extra.

Are domain and hosting costs included?

Not automatically. Domains, hosting, paid software and third-party services are identified separately where they are needed.

How long does a typical website take?

Timing depends on the size of the website and how ready the wording and images are. A realistic timescale is confirmed after the project has been discussed. If you need a particular launch date, raise it at the start so availability and feasibility can be checked. No completion date is guaranteed until the scope and required materials are agreed.

What does SEO Foundations include?

Depending on scope, it may include page titles, meta descriptions, logical headings, internal links, service and location structure, sitemap and robots configuration, and Search Console setup.

Can you guarantee Google rankings?

No. A technically sound, well-structured website is an important foundation, but no responsible studio can guarantee a specific search position.

Can you provide ongoing support after launch?

Yes. Website improvements, technical work, SEO, content and social-media content support can be agreed on a monthly basis where useful. The exact deliverables, frequency, responsibilities and price are confirmed in writing before ongoing work begins.

Is social media and content support included with every website?

No. It is optional. Depending on the agreed scope, support may include content planning, post ideas, professionally written captions, branded social graphics or adapting website and project content for social media. The mix, frequency and price are agreed for each client. Specific reach, engagement, enquiries or business results are not guaranteed.

Can you arrange professional brand photography?

Yes, where it suits the project and the photographer is available. Photography can be arranged through a trusted independent photographer who already creates photography and social content for other brands. Availability, location, the brief and price are confirmed separately before anything is booked.

Who owns my website once it is finished?

Once the final balance has been paid, you own the completed website and the content created specifically for your project. Your domain should also be registered in your name. Any third-party software, fonts, images or services remain covered by their own licences, and ongoing hosting, maintenance or subscription costs are explained separately. Shaldon Web Studio may retain reusable development components and working methods, while you can continue using them as part of your completed website. Shaldon Web Studio may show the completed project in its portfolio unless agreed otherwise.
